1. The URI is a bridge-building organization, not
a religion.
2. We respect the sacred wisdom of each religion, spiritual expression and
indigenous tradition.
3. We respect the differences among religions, spiritual expressions and
indigenous traditions.
4. We encourage our members to deepen their roots in their own tradition.
5. We listen and speak with respect to deepen mutual understanding and trust.
6. We give and receive hospitality.
7. We seek and welcome the gift of diversity and model practices that do not
discriminate.
8. We practice equitable participation of women and men in all aspects of the
URI.
9. We practice healing and reconciliation to resolve conflict without resorting
to violence.
10. We act from sound ecological practices to protect and preserve the Earth for
both present and future generations.
11. We seek and offer cooperation with other interfaith efforts.
12. We welcome as members all individuals, organizations and associations who
subscribe to the Preamble, Purpose and Principles.
13. We have the authority to make decisions at the most local level that
includes all the relevant and affected parties.
14. We have the right to organize in any manner, at any scale, in any area, and
around any issue or activity which is relevant to and consistent with the
Preamble, Purpose and Principles.
15. Our deliberations and decisions shall be made at every level by bodies and
methods that fairly represent the diversity of affected interests and are not
dominated by any.
16. We (each part of the URI) shall relinquish only such autonomy and resources
as are essential to the pursuit of the Preamble, Purpose and Principles.
17. We have the responsibility to develop financial and other resources to meet
the needs of our part, and to share financial and other resources to help meet
the needs of other parts.
18. We maintain the highest standards of integrity and ethical conduct, prudent
use of resources, and fair and accurate disclosure of information.
19. We are committed to organizational learning and adaptation.
20. We honor the richness and diversity of all languages and the right and
responsibility of participants to translate and interpret the Charter, Articles,
Bylaws and related documents in accordance with the Preamble, Purpose and
Principles, and the spirit of the United Religions Initiative.
21. Members of the URI shall not be coerced to participate in any ritual or be
proselytized.

다음과 같은 원리에 따라 행동한다.
1. URI는 교량 건설적 단체이지 하나의 종교는 아니다.
2. URI는 모든 종교의 신성한 지혜와 정신적 표현 및 토착 전통을 존중한다.
3. URI는 모든 종교와 정신적 표현 및 토착 전통간의 차이를 존중한다.
4. URI는 회원들이 자신의 고유한 전통 안에서 근본을 심화시키도록 격려한다.
5. URI는 상호 이해와 신뢰를 깊게 하도록 공손히 경청하고 발언한다.
6. URI는 상호 환대를 주고받는다.
7. URI는 차별을 일으키지 않는 다양한 재능과 모범적 수행을 환영하고 추구한다.
8. URI는 종교연합의 모든 측면에서 남녀가 동등하게 참여하도록 한다.
9. URI는 분쟁 해결을 위해 비폭력적으로 치유와 화해를 실천한다.
10. URI는 현재와 미래 세대 모두를 위한 지구 보호 유지를 위해 건전한 생태학적 방법에 따라 행동한다.
11. URI는 다른 종교간의 조직들과의 협조를 모색하며 협력한다.
12. URI는 헌장의 전문과 목적 및 원리에 찬동하는 모든 개인과 단체 및 협회를 회원으로 환영한다.
13. URI는 모든 관련 집단이 포함된 지역 수준에서 의사를 결정하는 재량권을 갖는다.
14. URI는 우리들은 헌장의 전문과 목적 및 원리에 합치하는 한 어떤 형태나 규모, 지역 및 주제나 활동으로도 모임을 조직할 권리를 갖는다.
15. URI는 토의와 결정은 어느 쪽에 의해서 지배되지 않도록 하며 다양한 이해관련 당사자들의 주체와 방법이 공정하게 대변되는 모든 차원에서
이루어져야 한다.
16. URI는 자율성과 재원들을 헌장의 전문과 목적 및 원리를 추구하는데 필수적일 경우에만 양도해야 한다.
17. URI는 자체의 필요에 따른 금융 및 기타 재원을 개발하고, 다른 부분의 필요를 돕는데 합당한 융 및 재원을 분담할 책임을 진다.
18. URI는 성실성과 윤리적 행위, 재원의 검약, 정보의 공정한 공개에 있어서 최상의 수준을 유지한다.
19. URI는 조직적 연구와 적응에 최선을 다한다.
20. URI는 헌장과 정관 등 관련 문헌들을 전문과 목적 및 원리와 종교연합 정신에 따라 번역, 해설하려는 모든 언어의 풍부성과 다양성 및
참가자들의 권리와 의무를 존중한다.
21. URI는 회원들에게 특정 종교의식에 참석이나 개종을 강요하지 않는다.
